Design features of pneumatic clutch

Pneumatic clutch is a friction clutch that uses compressed air as the operating power source. Generally used in equipment that needs to transmit large torque and change the direction of rotation at a faster rate, such as oil drilling machinery, ships, large mechanical presses, excavators, ball mills, rubber and plastic machinery, etc.

The pneumatic tire clutch has large torque transmission, smooth engagement, easy installation, vibration absorption, and can compensate a small amount of angular and radial relative deviation of the main and driven shafts. The driven part has small inertia, long service life, compact structure and good sealing. Pneumatic tires have large deformation resistance, high cost of pneumatic tire materials, and certain restrictions on the use temperature. When the temperature is higher than 60¡ãC, the life of the pneumatic tire will be reduced, and when the temperature is lower than -20¡ãC, the pneumatic tire will become brittle. Pneumatic clutch engaging elements mainly use friction plates, friction blocks, etc.

Tire clutches can be divided into two types: ordinary type and ventilated type according to their different structures.

1) Normal type

The torque is transmitted by pneumatic tires, the structure is simple, the manufacturing and installation technical requirements are low, the heat dissipation conditions are not as good as the ventilated type, the pneumatic tires have a larger volume, and the inflation and deflation time is longer, and it is easy to slip.

2) Ventilation type

A kind of air clutch developed in response to the shortcomings of the ordinary type, and a set of heat dissipation and energy transmission device is added to the structure.
